Welding gloves
Welding gloves are one of the basic pieces of equipment for a welder to work comfortably and safely. Special standards define the division of these products into two types: A and B. The first predisposes them to activities that need dexterity, while the protection standards maintained here are lower. Category B, on the other hand, defines welding gloves suitable for welding that requires higher safety standards.
Welding gloves and safety standards
As with other safety products, the standards prove to be crucial for welding gloves. In this case, it is Standard EN12477, which clearly states what characteristics such a product should meet. Thus, long welding gloves must protect:
- - against burns caused by brief contact with the flame;
- - the wrists and hands of the user from splashes containing liquid, heated metal;
- - from both UV radiation and convective heat.
Only meeting these requirements makes the product fully effective. All our welding gloves comply with the standards and give the user full safety.
TIG welding gloves
For this method, precise hand movement and a great deal of focus are required. That's why the TIG gloves in our range are thin and flexible, allowing freedom while working. This is guaranteed by goatskin. TIG gloves are also flame resistant, which provides protection for the hands from high temperatures generated during welding.
Long welding gloves
Long welding gloves usually reach up to the elbow or even higher. They are primarily dedicated to welders who work with larger equipment or in hard-to-reach areas. Long welding gloves are made of stronger materials, such as cowhide or welded flame-resistant fabric, for added protection.
Leather welding gloves
Cowhide, due to its strength and flexibility, is an ideal material for welding gloves. Leather gloves are also most commonly used for MIG/MAG welding. They are characterized by good heat protection, ease of cleaning and long service life.
MIG/MAG welding gloves
MIG/MAG welding gloves are designed primarily for welders who work with these methods. They are characterized by better protection against sparks and emitted welding light. MIG/MAG gloves are usually made of strong cowhide or other flame-resistant materials. We offer a wide selection of protective welding gloves from such reputable manufacturers as Strauss or Delta Plus.
What are the characteristics of good welding protective gloves?
Gloves must provide excellent protection, so they are made of flame-resistant materials such as cowhide or special fabrics. Welding safety gloves usually have longer grips, which allows welding in hard-to-reach places. In addition, the goods in our offer are equipped with special reinforcements in areas prone to mechanical damage, such as the palms and fingers.
